The museum features a variety of instrumental artifacts, recordings, and interactive displays which primarily focus on the Appalachian regions of Southwest Virginia, Northwest North Carolina, and Tennessee.

The Birthplace of Country Music Museum
Bristol, Virginia

Smithsonian Affiliate Museum

The Birthplace of Country Museum honors the 1927 Bristol Sessions and its monumental influence as the "big bang" of country music.

​

The museum exhibits various musical artifacts, interactive experiences, and a curated Special Exhibit Gallery.

The Country Music Hall of Fame Museum is dedicated to preserving the history and traditions of country music through promotion of its broad cultural impact.

The museum, often referred to as the "Smithsonian of Country Music," houses and displays the largest collection of historical country music artifacts.

The Carter Family Fold & Music Center
Hiltons, Virginia

The Carter Family Fold serves to protect and promote the legacy of The Carter Family from their start at the 1927 Bristol Sessions and beyond.

​

From February to November, The Carter Family Memorial Music Center holds live music every Saturday evening. This stage is also where Johnny Cash's final live performance took place before his passing in 2003.

Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum
Owensboro, Kentucky

The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum captures the excitement and energy of the genre, as well as showcases stories and artifacts from bluegrass pioneers and legends like Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, and many more.
